William Worn billw@wwapc.com William Worn has national NCARB registration and is registered in Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona and New York. He served as Commissioner on the Illinois Building Commission and Chairperson of the Accessibility Committee. He is past President of the American Institute of Architects in Illinois, representing the interests of more than three thousand architects statewide. Mr. Worn is the Clinical Associate Professor of Building Science in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. William is LEED accredited and was recently appointed to serve on the Board of the Chicago Environmental Fund. Mr. Worn is recognized nationally for his expertise in matters related to housing for people with disabilities. In 1999, he developed curricula for teaching the requirements of the Fair Housing Act to HUD FFHEO enforcement officers. For the past four years he has taught the curriculum to HUD staff in St. Louis, Washington D.C., Miami, Newark, San Francisco, Manchester, Minneapolis and Albuquerque. He was selected by Attorney General Jim Ryan to assist in the re-writing of the Illinois Accessibility Code; and was selected by the Illinois Capital Development Board to teach seminars statewide on the new Illinois Accessibility Code. He serves on the MOPD Accessible Housing Task Force in Chicago and is working on the consolidation of the Illinois Accessibility Code and the Federal Fair Housing Act for the Attorney General's Access Committee. He was awarded the AIA Citation of Honor for his work on behalf of people with disabilities. |
